Spring Programme at Kesgrave Baptist Church
April - July 2008
Sunday Mornings:
The Book of Psalms presents us with some majestic psalms and we
will spend three Sunday mornings looking at one of the longer
psalms, Psalm 18, a song of deliverance and confidence in God.
Then we will be asking the question 'What is an Evangelical?'
Evangelical Christians are not some recent invention, a splinter
group within Christianity. We are Christians and Churches who seek
to go back to the biblical roots of the Christian faith. At a time
when evangelical truth is under attack in a post-modern world, we
need to be sure of what we believe and proclaim.
In our family services we will be following the story of Elijah.

Sunday Evenings
Having finished Luke, we will not be leaving it yet! We will
spend some time reflecting on the question of ministries of mercy.
Have we neglected this vital ministry of the Church in our concern
to proclaim the Gospel? Are Gospel proclamation and social concern
two rivals or do they go together? We will seek to answer these
questions as we revisit the parable of the Good Samaritan.
Then we will be coming back to the Book of Proverbs, tracing
across the book some of the characters we meet in that forest of
individual proverbs in the later chapters.

Midweek
Our Bible studies on Tuesday evenings will look at the attributes
of God. Reflecting in the riches of God's character should be the
best way to lead us into earnest prayer, and we have a great deal to
be praying about together at this time.
